A friend from the neighborhood had been sick for the last year or so.
In the last couple of months she has been in and out of hospital.
She told everyone that the doctors didn’t know what was wrong.
Today a member of her family told me she is back in the hospital, and is not expected to live much longer.
She has full-blown AIDS.
She knew she was HIV+ for a long time.
She didn’t take her medication.
Dozens and dozens of unopened pill bottles.
Now she wants to take them all.
Now she wants to follow doctor’s orders.
It’s too late.
Her young children have been sent away to relatives.
They think it’s just for summer vacation.
I’m crying inside and out.

That's sad. HIV is a manageable disease now. I wonder why she didn't take her meds?

That is just so sad. What an awful thing to happen.

That is terrible! So sorry for your friend. We can all learn from this.
