I lurked in the dark shadows of the blogosphere, afraid even to leave my name and link at other blogs. Who after all would want to read my scribblings?
One day in early 2002 I received an email from a reader who missed me. It had been a particularly busy month, and I hadn't been updating. He wrote about how much he liked reading my posts, and that he hoped I would not give up on blogging. Can I tell you what a moment that was?
Shortly after that I decided to show my blog to a friend - Etan. His positive feedback warp speeded me out of the shadows and into the light. I changed the name of my site, and the host (several times), and began to create all types of blogs: photo, meme, audio...
On May 23rd 2007 I decided to start She Who Blogs. Within a few months I was actively communicating online with a diverse group of women world-wide. I have even had the pleasure of meeting several members in person. That's the great thing about living in New York, eventually everyone seems to get here one way or another.
Simply Frances is my new personal blog replacing Blogjem, which will remain up as an archive. It was simply time for a change. This first post will end with the quote used to kick off Blogjem on December 27th 2006
What is more dull than a discreet diary? One might as well have a discreet soul! – Henry Channon 1897-1958
As always I look forward to sharing with all of you.
Love, Frances
