The theme for this month is Giving (UP)
Tomorrow I will be giving up my trusted Panasonic TV with built-in DVD player.
That’s when they are delivering my new Samsung LCD TV. It’s quite snazzy looking, and much needed. Everyone on the old set looks like they have a sunburn. Still I’m a little sad to bid my traditional monster good-bye.
When I was a kid the TV was actually a piece of furniture. Grandma loved console sets. A basket of silk or plastic flowers always sat on top of the well-polished wood. The fake flower display was covered with a plastic bag to protect it from dust. Actually just about everything in the place was covered in plastic, think Marie on Everybody Loves Raymond.
Wonder what she would think about my new flat screen? Probably glue a flower or two on it to brighten it up.
Happy NaBloPoMo.
